Mike & Viv3rd February 2018 Birchs Bay, Tasmania RSVP
On a cold September night in 2013, two strangers agreed to meet over the cheapest dinner they could find. Drinking house wine and eating $4 pizzas, Mike & Viv bonded for hours over politics, dogs, and a mutual love of Jurassic Park.
Immediately taken with each other, they met again on four of the next seven days. Within a few months (and against their better judgement) they were together every night. Viv waded deeper into the world of Sci-Fi films, and Mike was introduced to the bottomless cup of Tea. In the years since, they’ve supported each other through everything. They’ve created and consumed things together, they’ve travelled and lived. Oh, and Viv slowly whittled down Mike’s resolve to keep Mia off the bed.
Shortly after the three-year mark, they found themselves at the American Museum of Natural History on a well deserved holiday. While admiring the majestic size of the duelling dinosaurs in the Museum’s Great Hall, Viv turned around to find Mike on one knee, nervously declaring the extent of his love. This February in Tasmania, the story continues…

We would recommend staying either in Hobart and travelling down to Birchs Bay for the evening, or staying in one of the many gorgeous towns on the Southern Outlet – Book along the coast between Birchs Bay and Hobart for the most convenience.
For groups of friends and family, there are many gorgeous holiday houses in the region that sleep up to 12, so we can suggest buddying up to keep the party vibe going (and to save some cash if you’re renting cars and such!)
Here are some Airbnb links to properties in the region we would recommend:
We have been living in sin for several years now, and as such have all of the creature comforts such as toasters, sandwich presses and thoroughly unnecessary juicers.
With that in mind, we are not particularly well travelled, and so we ask that if you wish to contribute to our honeymoon across Europe, we would love the necessary funds to ingest as much pastry, pasta and vino rosso as is humanly possible.
We’ve set up an account that you can contribute to online, or if you prefer the old tactile method of transferring money there will be a wishing well available at the reception on the day – Thank you for supporting us through our travels!
